COMENIUS PROJECT

I know more things about Hungary because it's our neighbor country and being a Hungarian I have had personal and professional contacts with Hungarians throughout the years. Romania and Hungary have a lot in common their history is interconnected. Bulgaria is a neighbor country too but I don't know that much about it. Unfortunately I have only passed through Bulgaria on my ways to Turkey and Greece. But it would be absolutely amazing to meet Bulgarian people and to catch a glimpse of their culture. I have been once to Turkey, more precisely to Istanbul, and I just fell in love with this country: its people, its towns, its mosques, palaces, religion. This is the case with Poland as well, I’ve visited it once, going to Oswiecim. Breathtaking. This is our beautiful Europe, let’s get to know it better through knowledge.

About the Golden Section.

In the course of the years the Golden Section had an impact on many people. The Golden Section or Golden Ratio is a proportion which often shows up in the nature and arts, creating natural balance between symmetry and asymmetry. Demonstrably the ancient Egyptians were using it too. This regularity was found in the ancient Egyptian architecture (ex: Great Pyramid of Giza). Some of the greatest mathematical minds of all ages, from Pythagoras and Euclid in ancient Greece, through the medieval Italian mathematician Leonardo of Pisa and the Renaissance astronomer Johannes Kepler to present-day scientific figures have spent endless hours over this simple ratio and its properties. Biologists, artists, musicians, historians, architects, psychologists, and even mystics have pondered and debated the basis of its ubiquity and appeal. The Golden Ratio has inspired thinkers of all disciplines like no other number in the history of mathematics. As you can see the Golden Section slowly became part of our life.

I'm very optimistic regarding our future activities. I'm sure that we will have a very great time with the other teams from the other countries. I hope that during these meetings I will expand my knowledge (being a History-English teacher I feel a little bit lost in this topic) by listening to presentations made by some very fascinating people from other cultures.
